Dhaka—Bangladesh expects its 180 CST high sulfur fuel oil imports to jump by 23% year on year to 1.6 million mt in 2015 mainly to run a greater number of HSFO-fired power plants, a senior Bangladesh Petroleum Corp. official told Platts Thursday. State-run BPC will import around one million mt of HSFO, up 25% from the previous year’s import, BPC’s general manager for commercial and operations Mohammad Gias Uddin Ansary said.
