Dubai-Baghdad will continue to subsidize state-supplied fuel and energy prices despite facing a financial crisis due to sliding oil revenues and the cost of waging war with Islamic State militants, the Iraqi oil minister said Tuesday. “Although the IMF persists in seeking a removal of government subsidies on energy, we decided to adhere to the policy and keep the prices the way they are now,” oil minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi said in comments reported by the Erbil-based Rudaw news agency.
