Indian gasoline demand soars in November

Mumbai —India’s gasoline sales recorded double-digit year-on-year growth yet again in November as passenger vehicle sales rose and consumer preference for gasoline vehicles continued to underpin demand. The trend toward gasoline-fueled vehicles is likely to continue due to recent Supreme Court restrictions on diesel vehicles in the National Capital Region, which includes New Delhi and surrounding suburbs. The National Capital Region has banned the entry of diesel trucks and suspended registration of new diesel passenger utility vehicles in a move to reduce soaring air pollution levels in the city.
