Traders, analysts shrug off reported 98-Bcf injection

Houston—Traders and analysts on Thursday largely shrugged off as expected the report by the US Energy Information Administration that US natural gas in storage increased 98 Bcf to 3.538 Tcf for the week that ended September 25. The net injection was at the low end of consensus expectations of an injection between 98 Bcf and 102 Bcf. EIA in the corresponding week last year reported a 110-Bcf injection, while the five-year average is a 94 Bcf injection.
