Pakistan in talks with CNPC to set up refinery

Pakistan is in talks with China National Petroleum Corp to set up a 200,000 b/d refinery that will help the South Asian nation sharply reduce oil product imports, an official at Pakistan’s petroleum ministry said Thursday. The refinery proposal figured in recent talks between officials from Pakistan’s petroleum ministry, led by minister Shahid Khaqqan Abbasi, and a visiting delegation from China, which included CNPC officials, the official added.
