London—UK-based Tullow Oil has made a new oil find at its emerging oil province in northwest Kenya, reversing a spate of recent exploration setbacks and fueling its hopes of proving up a 1 billion barrel oil potential in the region. The Etom-2 well in the northern part of the South Lokichar basin encountered 102 meters of high-quality reservoir and light oil in two columns, Tullow said.
