Tokyo—Japan’s crude and fuel oil demand for thermal power generation will likely drop by 20%-30% from a year ago in fiscal 2015- 16 (April-March) if “a certain level of nuclear power is restarted” during the period, Yasushi Kimura, president of the Petroleum Association of Japan, said Wednesday. Japan’s oil demand for power generation stood at around 17.60 million kl, or 303,289 b/d for fiscal 2014-15, Kimura said.
