US natural gas injection beat consensus, price rose

Houston—US natural gas in storage increased 94 Bcf to 3.193 Tcf for the week that ended August 28, the US Energy Information Administration said Thursday. The net injection was above consensus expectations of a build of 83 Bcf to 87 Bcf, but the EIA’s actual estimate includes a reclassification of 8 Bcf from base gas to working gas. The implied flow was an injection of 86 Bcf.
