Talisman pulls out of two blocks offshore Vietnam

Singapore—Canada’s Talisman Energy has pulled out of two upstream blocks offshore Vietnam, with partner Mitra Energy assuming operatorship once again. Kuala Lumpur-based Mitra said Wednesday that it now has a 70% stake in blocks 46/07 and 45 after Talisman’s withdrawal, effective December 1. State-owned Petrovietnam has the remaining 30% in both blocks, which are adjacent to Talisman’s PM-3 CAA oil project that straddles Malaysia and Vietnam in the Malay-Tho Chu Basin.
