Sverdrup unitization deal resolves fractious talks

London-The project partners in massive Johan Sverdrup discovery, one of the biggest oil and gas finds ever made offshore Norway, said Thursday that a final decision had been made by authorities on shareholdings, in a move that should reduce the risk of delay to a production startup. The dispute between one stakeholder, Oslo-listed Det norske oljeselskap, had led it to refuse to sign off on the project’s development plan which was submitted to the authorities in February, causing some analysts to worry it would fail to meet its targeted production start of late 2019.
