Mexico’s January crude output falls 10.2% on year

Mexico City -Mexico produced 2.251 million b/d of crude in January, a decline of 10.2% from the 2.506 million b/d of the same month of last year, the National Hydrocarbons Com- mission reported Tuesday. The commission, the industry regulator, bases its figures on preliminary reports provided by the state oil and natural gas company, Pemex. The main crude producing complex, Ku-Maloob-Zaap, in the Sound of Campeche, may have signs of having peaked as output dropped in January to 790,000 b/d from 870,000 b/d year on year.
