Fire shutters Brazil’s Transpetro products terminal

Rio de Janeiro—Brazil’s Transpetro, the logistics and shipping arm of state oil company Petrobras, has shut the Madre de Deus products terminal after a fire, Transpetro said Wednesday. Operations at the Terminal Aquaviaria de Madre de Deus, also known as Temadre, were restarted at 1:55 pm local time, Transpetro said. The terminal was shut down for about four hours after an LPG storage tank caught fire in the morning. The terminal’s fire brigade and local firefighters brought the blaze under control at about 11:25 am, the company said.
