Tesoro to continue refinery work despite strike

Western US refiner Tesoro expects lower rates at its six refineries during the first quarter 2015 as it moves ahead with planned work despite a strike at two of the plants scheduled for maintenance, a company executive said Thursday. Chief Financial Officer Steven Sterin said the company expected to process between 670,000 b/d-710,000 b/d in Q1, lower than the 808,000 b/d processed in Q4 2014 across its six refineries due to planned work at three of them. He made the comment speaking during the company’s Q4 earnings call, Tesoro operates refineries in North Dakota, Utah, Washington and California with a total throughput of about 850,000 b/d.
