Uganda extends deadline for approving Tullow licenses

The Ugandan government has pushed back its deadline for approving the award of oil production licenses to UK-based Tullow Oil and France’s Total E&P to December from June to allow the government and the companies to come to agreement on taxes and crude recov- ery rates, the Ministry of Energy’s permanent secretary said Wednesday. Permanent Secretary Fred Kabagambe Kallisa said the government and oil companies still have some issues that need to be ironed out before the licenses can be issued.
