Warm winter likely bearish for US refiners

New York—Unseasonably warm weather heading into the US winter is painting a bearish picture for US refining margins, and analysts expect there is little reprieve in sight as ULSD futures remain in contango. US Atlantic Coast refining margins improved only slightly last week, with cracking margins for Bakken remaining in the red. Margins for imported grades rose slightly as well, and hold a strong premium to those for Bakken.
