Petrobras sets subsalt oil record in March

Rio de Janeiro—State-run Brazilian energy giant Petrobras continued to boost crude oil production from its subsalt fields in March, posting a record output total for a third-consecutive month as new wells came onstream, it said late Monday. Petrobras said it produced a record 387,000 b/d of oil in March from its subsalt portfolio, up from the previous record set in February this year of 385,000 b/d. Subsalt output was 358,000 b/d in January.
