Washington—US producers have been exporting processed condensate since the Obama administration gave them legal backing last year, but the Energy Information Administration remains unable to adequately assess how much is being exported. At issue is the complex system the US Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Division uses to classify exports that has recently categorized processed condensate shipments differently, keeping the EIA unable to properly track export levels, the agency said.
