Encana targets doubling of oil, NGL output

Calgary-Canadian oil and gas producer Encana increased its second-quarter tight oil and condensate output by 87% year on year to 127,300 b/d of oil equivalent and plans to more than double its output by the year’s end, CEO Doug Suttles said Friday. Encana will ramp up output from its four strategic assets-tight oil acreage in the Permian Basin and Eagle Ford Shale in the US and condensate-rich plays in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin’s Duvernay and Montney shales-to 270,000 boe/d, he said on an earnings webcast.
