Energy investors start warming to the new Egypt

London—Signs from Egypt’s new oil minister that the country is open for business— having solved some of its long-standing problems in the oil and gas sphere—seems to have drawn the interest of international operators, which are now increasingly optimistic that the environment is good for renewed investment. Egypt’s future as an attractive country for energy investment was thrown into doubt by the overthrow of president Hosni Mubarak during the so-called Arab Spring of 2011.
