Gazprom Neft to triple output from Arctic oil field

Moscow—Gazprom Neft plans to nearly triple crude output at Prirazlomnoye Field next year, the company said Monday, as it continues developing Russia’s only producing offshore Arctic field while other exploration projects in the region face delays due to a weak economy and foreign sanctions. Gazprom Neft, which launched the field in December 2013, sees production rising to 1.7 million mt, or around 34,000 b/d, in 2016, up from 300,000 mt in 2014. With the second producing well launched last month, it plans to more than double the volume this year.
