PBF gets USGC toehold on Chalmette deal

New York —PBF Energy will buy the 189,000 b/d Chalmette, Louisiana, refinery from Exxon- Mobil and PDV Chalmette for $322 million, giving PBF its first US Gulf Coast refining asset as well as entry into the USGC refined product export market, the company said Thursday. The deal is expected to close prior to year-end 2015, mostly likely in the fourth quarter, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, PBF Chief Executive Officer Tom Nimbley said during a call with analysts to discuss the deal.
