Jupiter area well confirms subsalt oil: Petrobras

Brasilia—Brazilian state-controlled oil company Petrobras said Wednesday that a fourth well drilled in its Santos Basin Jupiter area confirmed a subsalt oil reserve. Well 3-BRSA-1246-RJS (3-RJS-732), informally known as Apollonia, lies 296 km (184 miles) off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. The well is at a water depth of 2,183 meters, and lies 8 km to the southwest of Jupiter discovery well (1-RJS-652A).
