Canada approves 2-D seismic application in Arctic

Calgary—Canada’s National Energy Board has approved an application filed by a threemember joint venture to carry out a 2-D seismic survey in the offshore Baffin Bay and Davis Strait area in northeast Arctic Ocean, an agency spokeswoman said Friday. The board granted a five-year authorization, starting this summer, to a JV of Norway’s Petroleum Geo-Services and two of its 100% owned subsidiaries, TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Co. and Multi Klient Invest, NEB’s Tara O’Donovan said.
