BP staff return to militant-hit Algerian gas plant

BP staff have returned to work at Algeria’s In Amenas gas plant in recent weeks along with other foreign workers, a year-and-a-half after 40 people were killed when militants attacked the site, BP said Monday. The return comes after BP and Norway’s Statoil, partners in the In Amenas venture with Algeria’s Sonatrach, received assurances from Algerian authorities that suitable security measures had been put in place, a BP spokesman said.
