Transneft mulls linking Bashkortostan fields to ESPO

London—Russian pipeline operator Transneft is considering building new pipeline infrastructure to allow crude produced by Bashneft in Bashkortostan to be pumped directly into the East Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline system, Bashneft CEO Alexander Korsik said Friday. Speaking to reporters at a briefing in London, Korsik said Bashneft already exports some of its West Siberian crude via the ESPO pipeline to Kozmino on Russia’s Pacific coast, though not in significant volumes. Transneft gave Bashneft approval to deliver crude into ESPO from its fields in West Siberia in May 2013.
