Chevron sells Netherlands upstream unit to Petrogas

London—Chevron is selling its upstream unit in the Netherlands as well as midstream crude and gas infrastructure to Omani upstream company Petrogas. The deal covers 11 offshore blocks that had production of 2,000 b/d of crude and 41,000 Mcf/d of gas last year, down from 2009 output of 3,000 b/d and 116,000 Mcf/d, Chevron said on Tuesday without giving financial details of the deal. The sale “was a result of the company’s drive to focus on assets more aligned with our long-term strategic growth objectives,” Chevron’s managing director for the European upstream, Craig May, said.
