Biggest July injection in decade lifts US gas storage

Knoxville—A 107-Bcf injection to storage came in well above expectations on Thursday, lifting inventories to 2.129 Tcf and continuing a string of 13 weeks of above-average builds, according to data by the Energy Information Administration. It was the highest July injection in 10 years. The report sent the NYMEX August natural gas futures contract tumbling to a sub-$4/MMBtu close for the first time in more than seven months.
