London-The volume of Persian Gulf sour crude seen in Europe, especially the Mediterranean, is set to rise after price cuts by several state-run producers make the grades more attractive to regional refiners, according to traders. Lower official selling prices, coupled with the big drop in outright crude oil values, has increased the viability of European refiners running heavy sour crudes from the Persian Gulf other than Iraq’s Basrah, which is well established, according to sources.
