Russia sees gas production rising by 5% this year

Moscow—Russia expects to see its gas production grow by 4.7% this year but oil production will be little changed at around 10.5 million b/d, the deputy energy minister Kirill Molodtsov said Wednesday. Gas output will rise to 700 Bcm on the back of expanding output from existing fields and the launch of new operations offshore, Molodtsov said, naming Gazprom’s Kirinskoye in Russia’s Far East among the new fields that are to contribute to this year’s gas output growth. Gazprom launched output at Kirinskoye, which holds 162.5 Bcm of proved gas reserves and 19.1 million mt in gas condensate reserves, last October.
