Mumbai—A greenfield refinery in Barmer, Rajasthan, and expansions of the Mumbai and Visakhapatnam refineries are part of stateowned Indian refiner Hindustan Petroleum Corp. Ltd.’s plans to meet product demand and compete with private refiners as India heads closer toward deregulating diesel prices. “We have been taking a lot of initiatives,” HPCL Chairwoman Nishi Vasudeva said Friday, talking about strategies to compete once diesel deregulation is announced.
