Petrobras’ subsalt output hits new record

Brasilia—Brazil’s Petrobras boosted output from its Santos and Campos basin subsalt fields in April to a new monthly record of 411,000 b/d up 4% from 395,000 b/d in March. After two years of decline due to maturing fields and aging infrastructure, Petrobras’ production has started to recover in recent months, as new offshore platforms acquired in 2013 have come online. Petrobras anticipates an overall production bump of 7.5% over 2014, it said in its 2014-2018 business plan.
