Petronas OKs $16-billion RAPID project

Singapore—Petronas has taken a final investment decision on the development of its Refinery And Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) project in southern Johor state—three years after it first unveiled the project. The $16-billion project, which includes a 300,000 b/d refinery and a petrochemical complex, is expected to start up in early 2019, the Malaysian state-owned company said Thursday.
