Singapore—BP, Shell, Petronas and PTT are some of the companies that have pre-qualified to set up a jet fuel distribution joint venture in Myanmar, and the government expects to finalize a foreign partner by the end of October this year, an official with state-owned Myanma Petrochemical Enterprise said Monday. In May, Myanmar’s Ministry of Energy invited applications from companies interested in setting up the venture—to operate state-owned Myanma Petroleum Products Enterprise’s jet fuel distribution business at the Yangon airport.
