LNGL seeks US approval for LNG exports

Sydney—Australia’s Liquefied Natural Gas Ltd has filed an application with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission seeking authorization for the construction and operation of its proposed Magnolia LNG project in Louisiana, the company said Thursday. The application marks a “significant milestone” for the project, located on the Calcasieu River near Lake Charles, LNGL Managing Director Maurice Brand said in a statement. The filing places Magnolia LNG “among a small group of projects to have formally filed an application with FERC,” he added.
