摘要

Vienna—The security situation in Iraq continues to deteriorate following a wave of violence Tuesday across parts of northern Iraq, but the events will not affect crude exports from the south of the country, oil minister Abdul-Karim al-Luaibi said Tuesday. Earlier in the day, jihadists seized control of the country’s second-biggest city Mosul and the surrounding Nineveh province, prompting prime minister Nuri al-Maliki to ask parliament to declare a state of emergency.
