Canadian oil production to rise to 6 million b/d by 2035

Washington—Canadian crude oil production will climb by 60% to 6 million b/d by 2035 as the country ramps up its planned export capacity, Todd Williams, a managing director with Navigant, said Wednesday. Canada exported 2.6 million b/d in 2013, almost entirely to the US, but also imported about 1.1 million b/d last year, mostly to provinces east of Ontario, Williams said during a presentation at an Energy Outlook Series event. Over the next 10 years, Williams estimates that export capacity will climb by 3 to 4 million b/d as it displaces non-North American imports.
