Petronas delays FiD on Canadian LNG project

Singapore-Malaysia’s state-owned Petronas and its partners have deferred making a final investment decision on the Pacific NorthWest project in what can be seen as a setback to Canadian British Columbia’s ambitions to develop an LNG industry. The partners have decided to delay the FID in order to review the project’s economic viability, which are presenting new challenges in a time of falling oil prices, Petronas said Thursday. Petronas and its partners had previ- ously planned to take FID on the project by mid-December this year.
