Statoil points to ‘ordinary’ operations at In Amenas

London—Norway’s Statoil and its partners are now ready to resume “ordinary operations” at the major In Amenas gas project in Algeria, 19 months after the deadly attack on the facility, in a clear indication of the Norwegian group’s long-term commitment to its presence in the North African country. Statoil said the partners’ corporate executive committee had decided that ordinary rotation was to be resumed at the plant “as all defined security measures have been implemented.”
