Shale firm Halcon may have Tuscaloosa JV

Houston—Unconventional oil operator Halcon Resources, which made a splashy expansion in the Tuscaloosa Marine Shale last month, could soon have a joint venture on its 307,000 net acres in the play by mid-Q2, Global Hunter Securities analyst Mike Kelly said Friday. Halcon “pegs a 75% chance it closes on a [JV] transaction sooner than later,” Kelly said in an investor note.
