Lukoil to launch output at iraq's West Qurna 2 in March

Moscow-Russia's largest independent crude producer Lukoil plans to start production at the Iraqi West Qurna 2 oil field later this month, the company told analysts on Wednesday. The schedule is sooner than previous esti- mates by Lukoil officials, who last month esti- mated that production at West Qurna 2 would start some time in the first half of 2014. More recent media reports have quoted Lukoil CEO Vagit Alekperov as saying the production launch was planned for end-March or early April.
