Turkmenistan seeks to unify disparate oil sector

London-Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has approved plans to cre- ate a unified oil and gas company combining various state agencies and companies, state media report, in a consolidation trend also evident in neighboring Kazakhstan. The new company, to be named NAPECO, will combine the presidential agency for man- agement and use of hydrocarbons, oil and gas companies Turkmennebit and Turkmengaz, exploration company Turkmengeology and the Turkmenbashi refining complex, state news agency TDH reported.
