Hess inks preliminary tolling deal for Equus field

Sydney-US independent Hess finally looks to have found a home for its stranded Equus gas resource off Western Australia, following several years of negotiations with the operators of three onshore liquefaction facilities. Hess’ Australian subsidiary has signed a non-binding letter of intent to toll process its Equus gas through the Woodside Petroleum-operated North West Shelf joint venture’s existing facilities in Karratha, the company said Tuesday. Hess would then market the LNG to customers in the Asia Pacific.
