Tokyo—Japanese refiner Showa Shell sold a total 25.985 million kiloliters—or 447,782 b/d— of oil products on the domestic market last year, down 2.5% from 2012, the company said Friday. The overall drop in sales was the result of declines in fuel oil, jet fuel and gasoline sales, although gasoil demand for the year was steady. Showa Shell processed 21.782 million kl or 375,355 b/d of crude at its group refineries last year, when it had an average refinery utilization rate of 94.6%, compared with 21.053 million kl of processed crude with a utilization rate of 91.6% the previous year, the company said. In the year ended December 31, Showa Shell exported 1.558 million kl, or 26,848 b/d, of oil products, nearly triple the 574,000 kl exported a year before.
