New York to establish new emergency fuel reserves

New York-New York state will set up six strategic fuel reserve sites in upstate New York to provide gasoline and diesel to the region in the event of emergency, the state said Wednesday. The reserve, which will be operational in November, will hold a total 2.5 million gallons or just under 60,000 barrels of gasoline and diesel in existing Buckeye Partner terminals located in Rensselaer, Brewerton, Rochester, Marcy, Vestal and Buffalo.
