PKN Orlen targets more oil, gas assets

Warsaw—Polish refiner PKN Orlen is looking to expand its upstream footprint in North America as it seeks to reduce its exposure to Europe’s weak refining economics which has crimped its earnings. Some six months after acquiring Canadian producer TriOil Resources to grow its own limited oil production, PKN now considers the subsidiary as a base to develop its North American operations, the company’s CEO Jacek Krawiec said Thursday.
