US producer capex could still be revised

Houston-Upstream companies’ 2015 capital budgets released in recent weeks have revealed major bites out of spending plans compared with this year as oil prices have notched down nearly 50% since June. And with crude prices now playing around the mid-$50s/barrel level, Wall Street expects the capex nibbles may not be over. Analysts have said they expect oil companies’ 2015 spending to be chopped on average at least 10-20%, and possibly more, from amounts spent this year.
