Mexico projects lower 2015 oil production, exports

Mexico City—Oil production next year by Mexico’s Pemex will average 2.4 million b/d and exports 1.09 million b/d, the lowest level in decades, according to a proposed federal budget issued over the weekend. Although the state-owned producer has lost its monopoly under recently energy reforms, Pemex will continue to be the country’s sole producer in 2015 as a competitive market is expected to take time to emerge.
