Shell to invest $250 million in Vaca Muerta

Buenos Aires-Gas y Petroleo del Neuquen (GyP), the state oil company of Argentina’s southwestern province of Neuquen, said Friday that Shell has agreed to invest $250 million in a five-year pilot project in the giant Vaca Muerta shale play. Funds will go toward further drilling and construction of infrastructure on the Cruz de Lorena and Sierras Blancas blocks, a GyP source said.
