Russian gas exports to Europe rise 10% in May

Moscow—Deliveries of Russian gas to both Europe and Ukraine rose sharply in May despite an ongoing pricing and payment row with Ukraine, which transits about half of Russian gas supplies to the EU region. Deliveries to Europe rose more than 10% year-on-year to 13.75 billion cubic meters of natural gas in May, Gazprom’s CEO Alexei Miller said late Tuesday. “Gazprom continues to increase sales of gas to its clients in Europe even when it is compared to record supplies last year,” he said in a statement.
