Singapore—South Korean cargoes of jet fuel/ kerosene increasingly headed to the US in the first quarter of the year as economics to ship to the fuel to Europe remained unfavorable, industry sources said April 18. A monthly average of four to five cargoes, mostly MR-sized carrying about 300,000 barrels, and some LR1 ships, went to the US in the first three months of the year, representing 14-20% of South Korea’s total jet/ kerosene exports for the period, data from shipping fixtures obtained from market participants showed.
